
Mircha Poldrugovac is public health specialist at the Centre for Health Care of the National Institute of Public Health in Slovenia. He worked as an advisor in the area of quality and safety in health care at the Ministry of Health of Slovenia between 2008 and 2011 and as a MSCA doctoral fellow within the HealthPros project at the Amsterdam University Medical Centres between 2018 and 2022. He participated in several projects in the area of quality management. He co-authored the Slovenian Strategy on Quality and Safety in Healthcare 2010-2015. He also contributed significantly to the preparation of a national framework of quality indicators in health care and of the annual reports on those indicators. Mircha co-authored several scientific papers in particular in the area of monitoring performance through indicators. Currently his areas of work include health system performance assessment and evidence informed policy-making. He is a member of the Community of Practice on HSPA supported by the European Commission. Mircha is the Slovenian delegate to the Health Care Quality and Outcome Working Party of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He has been elected to chair the working party in 2025.
