Hazal Yılmaz is a PhD fellow at HealthIntelAct with a background in health economics, policy analysis, and pharmaceutical market access. She has worked across academia, international organisations, and the private sector, contributing to projects that connect evidence, policy, and practice in healthcare.
She completed her MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) at the London School of Economics and Political Science, supported by the UK government’s Chevening Scholarship, and holds BA and MA degrees in Economics from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.
Hazal has contributed to research on cancer care, health inequalities, and health system performance in Europe, authoring country profiles and supporting comparative policy analyses at the OECD. In industry, she engaged with policymakers, payers, and healthcare professionals to support access to innovative medicines, while also leading cross-functional projects in market access and project management. Earlier in her career, she worked in finance, providing asset management services and conducting risk assessments, as well as in academia as a research and teaching assistant. She holds finance certifications including CFA Level I.
Her research interests include the accessibility and sustainability of health technologies, health system performance, and evidence-based approaches to health policy.
