Elin is passionate about improving equitable access to healthcare services. She has extensive experience with developing and implementing solutions to improve accessibility of healthcare services and to improve quality of care, having previously worked both within the Dutch and Swedish health systems. Elin has worked on a national and regional level, and for individual healthcare organisations. Through her projects she gained in-depth knowledge of the challenges of implementing (digital) health interventions, and she is eager to incorporate these insights into her academic work.

Elin has an interdisciplinary academic background, with a bachelor in natural and social sciences and a master’s degree in Health Economics, Policy and Law, in which she focused on global health economics. She has been trained in comparative research, both qualitatively and quantitatively, that seeks to measure and explain differences in health systems, health behaviour and health outcomes.

During her work for the University of Uppsala, the Dutch government and several regions she has developed an affinity with co-creation, where local communities and the end users of the intervention are directly involved in all stages of the project. Elin looks forward to gaining more experience with co-creation in her work within Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and the HealthIntelAct network.
