Sasha is a public policy and global health professional specializing in European health data systems, health information governance, and cross-cultural research.
She has a Master’s in Public Policy with a concentration in Global Health from Sciences Po in Paris, France, and a Bachelor of Science in Global Health Studies from the University of Miami. During her studies, she focused on how biased datasets and underrepresentation of certain populations contribute to health inequities. Her area of interest was on how access to clinical trials and inclusive digital health systems can shape health outcomes.
Prior to joining HealthIntelAct, Sasha was based in Brussels, Belgium where she worked as a scientist at Sciensano, Belgium’s public health institute. She supported numerous European health data projects including xShare and the Population Health Information Research Infrastructure (PHIRI). Her work focused on interoperability, data governance, and positioning Sciensano as a leader in Belgium’s implementation of the European Health Data Space. She is an experienced project manager and has contributed to the organization of large-scale conferences, scientific assessments, and communication strategies to advance European health data sharing. Sasha’s professional experience also includes research and policy work in her home country of the United States of America. While living in Washington D.C., she held positions at the Center for Science in the Public Interest and the National Center for Health Research, where she analyzed scientific evidence on food safety, medical devices and pharmaceuticals, while also engaging in advocacy and public-facing communications. Additionally, while a Bachelor student, she worked as a neuroscience research assistant and has experience performing scientific experiments and working in biomedical laboratory settings.
