
Dionne Kringos (coordinator)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dionne Kringos is Associate Professor in Health Systems and Services Research and Deputy Head of the Department of Public and Occupational Health at Amsterdam UMC, University of Amsterdam. She is Chair of the Department’s Section on Quality and Organisation of Care, leads the Health Systems and Services Research Group, and serves as Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Quality and Equity in Primary Health Care Systems.
Dionne’s research focuses on the measurement, management, and improvement of health system performance. She is dedicated to supporting evidence-based decision-making that strengthens health system sustainability and resilience. She has worked extensively with international organizations such as WHO, OECD, and the European Commission, advising on strategies to enhance health system effectiveness and equity. She also coordinates HealthIntelAct, ensuring that the network advances research and training in health system intelligence to support policy innovation and better decision-making.
She holds a PhD in Health Systems Research and Master’s degrees in Health Services Research and International Health Economics, Policy & Law. She was a Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and has held advisory roles at national and international levels, including serving as an appointed member of the European Commission’s Expert Panel on Effective Ways of Investing in Health (2016-2022).
Dionne has led large-scale European research projects, published extensively in top-tier scientific journals, and collaborates with governments and international institutions to develop high-performing, sustainable, and equitable health systems.
